Using recognizable and easy to understand symbols is essential to graphics in order to reinforce the themes of the copy that it accompanies. Here, the choice of a typical credit card displays the status quo in the lending industry.
Less is more (Mostly)
Simplifying complex concepts helps aid explainability and clarity. Here, the stems and nodes help illustrate that Zest Insights provide a more holistic picture of an applicant's background compared to traditional models. However, in this comparison, the Zest Insights are considerably more interesting due to the complexity of the image compared to the traditional score, emphasizing the nuanced approach of the Zest model
It's all in the details
Small changes make a big impact. Below, the addition of highly concentrated blue and red nodes suggest that this applicant has a larger file, but more red flags. It's consistent with the prior image, while highlighting key differentiators that help get the point across. In this example, the previous applicant had a thinner file, but less red flags, denoted by the absence of concentrated circles and a thinner stroke.
